Understanding Today’s Financial Environment

Jonathan Bookbinder, a financial representative with the MassMutual New Jersey – New York City, wants to take the mystery out of financial preparation. He is dedicated to providing his clients the best possible financial education so that they can make informed decisions. Whether their goal is saving for retirement, college savings, or estate strategy, his personalized service focuses on his clients’ needs, wants, and financial goals and objectives. Jonathan is dedicated to providing his clients with a comprehensive approach that is flexible, adaptable, and will benefit them both in the here and now, and in retirement.

Jonathan stresses education in his practice; his mission is for his clients to learn good personal finance habits so that they can protect their assets now and maximize retirement funds to help them achieve their financial goals. Being in college during the financial crisis of 2008 made it clear to Jonathan that many people do not receive the financial education they need to prepare well financially. Many let emotions guide their decision-making, which can lead to financial mistakes. Jonathan recommends a balanced approach to decision making. He is able to give his clients a clear vision of what life can be like now and should be in the future.

Jonathan is affiliated with MassMutual New Jersey – NYC because he believes in their core commitment to customers’ well-being. Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance Company (MassMutual) has a 160+ year history of providing reliable, high-value services to their clients. This dovetails precisely with Jonathan’s client-centered approach; he takes the time to get to know and understand his clients’ needs, wants, and long-term goals. He then helps each individual develop, implement, and monitor a financial strategy that’s designed to address their own particular situation.

Jonathan earned his Business Management degree from Washington College in 2010 and is currently earning a Master’s Degree in Financial Services with a concentration in Retirement Planning from the American College of Financial Services. He is a member of the AALU (Association for Advanced Life Underwriting) and the Society of Financial Professionals. He has been active in educational fundraising for the Darrow School, the Washington College 1782 Society, and the Kappa Sigma Fraternity.

Jonathan is an aficionado of excellent coffee and enjoys frequenting the coffee shops around his hometown of Short Hills, NJ. Friends, family, and clients know he is a fan of (in no particular order) the Yankees, Jets, Rangers, and Nets. He also enjoys photography, scuba diving, relaxing at home with his pet fish Claude and Finn, and going out for sushi or a good Chicken Parm with his wife Anna.
